case study
Three years, nine quarterly campaigns. What a compunding paid ads strategy actually looks like for a wedding venue.
A case study in what happens when a wedding venue commits to a paid strategy for the long haul instead of chasing quick wins.
THE VENUE
A 120-acre hinterland wedding and events venue, full-service with on-site catering, event coordination, and accommodation. The kind of destination venue that sells itself the moment a couple walks through the gates. The challenge was never the venue. It was making sure the right couples found it before the calendar filled with the wrong bookings.
THE APPROACH
Most paid marketing case studies show you one good month. This one shows what happens over nine consecutive quarterly campaign cycles, run back to back since mid-2024, each iterating on what the last one learned.
Every quarter, we ran a paired Website Traffic and Brand Awareness campaign. Every quarter, the targeting sharpened, the creative was tested and replaced, and the numbers moved.
paid efficiency compounded, quarter over quarter
Cost per link click fell from $0.31 in the earliest campaign cycle to $0.10 in the most recent, a genuine efficiency trend built over nine quarters, not a single lucky month.
Across the same period, quarterly reach on the Website Traffic Meta campaigns across both Instagram and Facebook grew from under 40,000 to over 67,000, and impressions from around 77,000 to more than 112,000.
the venue-focused, aspirational creative consistenty outperformned everything else
Across every quarter, the same pattern held: location-led video, the venue itself as the hero, always beat generic promotional content.
One outdoor reception creative alone delivered a reach of 74,715 at a cost per result of $2.08 in a single Brand Awareness cycle.
the organic content caught fire
In the most recent 30-day period, Instagram engagement spiked over 3,400% period on period, following a viral moment that pushed the account well beyond its usual reach.
Even as raw reach and views normalised down from that peak, external link taps rose 17%, meaning the audience connecting with the content was doing so with genuine intent to visit the website, not just scroll past.
TikTok followers grew 51% year on year, with video views up 387% since the channel's early days.
the what
What actually went viral tells it’s own story
The content that broke through wasn't polished venue photography. It was a bride and her bridesmaids adjusting her veil in the moments before the ceremony. A late-night dance floor under fairy lights, once the formalities were done.
A side-by-side of different bridal parties' reception entrances, confetti poppers and all, inviting the audience to vote on the best one. Long candlelit tables at dusk, pitched as pure alfresco inspiration. A posed photo moment cut against the real, unscripted joy behind it at a champagne tower toast.
Every one of these reels leans on the same thing: real emotion, real moments, the venue as the backdrop rather than the subject. That is the content worth repeating.
the why
Why the long view matters?
Every one of these numbers looks unremarkable in isolation. A few percentage points of efficiency here, a follower bump there. The story is in the compounding. Nine quarters of testing and refining paid creative is what makes a $0.10 cost per click possible.
Years of consistent organic content is what makes a single reel capable of a 3,400% engagement spike, because the audience and the algorithm both already know the account.
This is the case for treating a venue's marketing as infrastructure, not a campaign. The couples finding this venue today are the beneficiaries of work that started years before they ever searched for a wedding venue.
