To those who know her best, Catherine Kowalski has always been known as a trailblazer, not one to follow rules, but forge her own path. That’s why it was no surprise that shortly after gleaning her BFA in Fashion Design from the Parson’s School of Design in New York City she went on to found her own bridal couture brand. Her unique point of view initially got her on the map, as she takes an untraditional approach to bridal couture, offering gowns with an easy elegance and unexpected detailing.

BRAND IDENTITY DIRECTION

The brand identity direction for Catherine Kowalski Bridal is refined, timeless and luxurious - it embodies all of the qualities that speak to the modern day bride.

The combination of the classic Catherine Kowalski signature with contemporary typography compositions set the tone for a personable yet polished brand identity. Soft shades of cool blue give the brand identity a fresh, feminine appeal that builds trust and recognition with the audience.

 

WEBSITE DESIGN

To showcase the beautiful campaign imagery and branding elements, a modern Squarespace website was created for Catherine Kowalski.

To continue with the fresh, contemporary look of the branding, we utilised large section banners, simple sans serif typography and custom elements such as split screen mega menus and horizontal scroll galleries. Adding these custom features created a sleek, minimal design layout due to the fact content could span across the website horizontally instead of down the page vertically. The split screen navigation also allows the campaign imagery to shine, without a lengthy traditional top nav across the top of the page. Overall our goal was to create a site that was super simple to navigate, whilst maintaining a professional, fashion-forward appearance.
